NABBA Pro League to be introduced in 2026 as they plan to use this season to recruit more professionals

NABBA are planning to launch a Pro League next year and will use this season to build a base of professional athletes.

The federation took to social media again this week to announce new changes, hot on the heels of their announcement on Monday, January 6 of three additional classes.

Vice-chairman Tim Rosiek explained how the overall winners of all area shows would be awarded a NABBA Pro Card. And he outlined that other athletes judges believe are deserving would also be awarded one. On top of this, Rosiek hinted that work is going on behind the scenes to secure funding in order to pay professionals proper money.

He said: "This is all leading up to next year when we are trying to launch the NABBA Pro Division. A Pro League. This means there is going to be a pro show at every area show [in 2026]. This means there will be lots of prize money. And it means a pro can earn proper money, which is what a pro is deemed to be.

"This year, overall winners will be awarded a Pro Card. That doesn't mean if you are good enough you won't be awarded one. It is up to the judges and organisers to see if you're fit enough to win a NABBA Pro Card.

"So if you compete in one of the categories where we have a Pro Division – Mr Classes, Men's Physique, Classic, Trained Figure and Bikini – and you're deemed good enough, you will also be offered a Pro Card.

STAR OF THE UNIVERSE: Adam Hickey won his NABBA Pro Card last season

"If does not stop you doing a NABBA British Finals until you use your Pro Card in a pro show. So if you have a Pro Card, you can do the Britain and you can do the Universe. You can also do the Pro Universe and that means you are then deemed a professional athlete.

"All this will be clarified in more details later but there are exciting times ahead. We are moving NABBA into 2025 and we want to take you with us."
