TWO days out from her next competition, Sibel Osman is heading to France for the NPC Tsunami Nutrition Showdown in Toulouse – a European pro qualifier offering 10 pro cards, though not one she expects to turn pro at.
The show is not a Masters pro qualifier, so her chances of earning a card there are slim. But it is one of the rare high-level qualifiers that does include Masters categories, making it a valuable testing ground ahead of her main target in Milan.
As a serious athlete trialling an entirely new package this season, Osman sees competing on elite stages as essential, a way to gather detailed feedback from top-tier head judges and refine her physique before her pro qualifier next month.
Having never competed at this show before and expecting an exceptionally high standard of athlete, she says she genuinely has no expectations of placing. What she wants is feedback, experience and the chance to absorb every moment of competing in a new country.
"It's a blessing and an absolute privilege," she says of the opportunity to keep improving.
She flies out Friday, October 2, with check-ins and tanning that afternoon and competes Saturday, October 3
